Biography

Ryan is a young, refreshing, innovative talent. He brings passion and excitement to the airwaves and is the future of radio in Canada. Conservative yet down with the contemporary era, Ryan's opinions are often controversial but respected at the same time. He is the centerpiece of the Main Event, the glue that holds everything together through thick and thin.

Ryan Rider (born May 23, 1988 in Montreal, Quebec) is a is a Canadian professional wrestling commentator, radio broadcaster, and Marketing Representative for Paramount Pictures. He is best known as the founder, executive producer, and host of CJLO's The Main Event. Over his radio career, he has also appeared on CFMB, CKGM, CINQ-FM, and CBC Radio. As the big boss of The Main Event, he is one of the most entertaining and controversial personalities in the Canadian wrestling world. As a wrestling announcer, Ryan has done work for the National Wrestling Alliance, American Wrestling Association, and Wrestling Supershow. In September 2009, Ryan became the Play-by-Play announcer for Top of the World Wrestling (TOW) alongside veteran commentator Marc Blondin.

Ryan first came into wrestling radio in late 2002, and started the Main Event show on February 1st, 2004. In mid-2002, Rider began to work on several radio shows. In November of 2002, he joined television station CFCF-12's wrestling hotline, a position he would keep hold of until 2007. Toward the end of 2003, he took some production courses to officially become a radio producer and did some production work for CINQ 102.3 FM.

As the host of Main Event Radio since February 2004, he has interviewed many of the top wrestling stars of today from Jeff Jarrett to Jeff Hardy to CM Punk and Chris Jericho as well as those stars of yesteryear such as former World Champions Hulk Hogan, Harley Race, and Ricky "The Dragon" Streamboat. He has also co-hosted The 3 Count and Wrestling Ticket radio programs in Florida.

After over eight years of being involved in wrestling radio one way or another, Ryan Rider continues to improve every day and his excitement has never dried up but has rather expanded. "As the Owner, Host and Executive Producer of the Main Event, I'm always working hard to improve my own game as well as elevate the level of others," said Rider.
