ROCKO'S RANDOMNESS - MAJOR TWITTER FAIL VOLUME 1

Hey Now everybody! Recently here at The Main Event we began to expand our presence on Twitter. Both Ryan (@maineventradio) and I (@wrestlingreview) offer insight and live reactions to various news stories and events throughout the week. Sometimes it provides for some great discussion, however it often also provides for some hilariously sad tweets. I usually put most of my column type writing focus on the Reviews section of MainEventRadio.com but I found the need to share some of these horrible tweets with you too appealing to pass up and thus have revived the Rocko's Randomness column. Every once in a while ill offer up a collection of some of the ridiculously sad tweets I’ve read on twitter.

I’d like to note that every tweet mentioned in this column is a completely legitimate tweet that I found on twitter either from someone I’m following or through the search option. Sometimes it’s obvious the account I’m quoting is a tool who has opened it just for a specific reason, while other times its from someone completely legitimate, but enough of this, without further a due it’s time for the Twitter fails of the week!

Today we open with – BEGGING FOR A JOB ON TWITTER IS PATHETIC

“IamATL: Hey someone tweet @TNADixie and tell her to hire me maybe she will reply back I HOPE RT”

This tweet and this person’s subsequent tweets weren't even in a context of making a joke about how TNA will seemingly hire anybody nowadays (see Orlando Jordan) No instead it's completely serious, and I’m sorry but that is completely foolish, And the worse thing is, he isn’t the only one who does such a thing, look at this guy...

“just4LJ @tnadixie LJ is my best friend and my long time tag-team partner he wants to be a part of TNA more than anything give him just 1 shot”

This individual proceeded to write nearly 50 tweets explaining and putting over his so called friend. I wouldnt be surprised if it was this LJ himself as the account was only opened to tweet the hell out of Dixie to beg for a spot with TNA.

Piece of advice to any of you out there that are possibly thinking about doing the same thing...DONT! You look like an idiot. Instead take the advice of a former WWE talent executive Mike Bucci on how to stand out and get your shot with a big company like TNA or WWE... Listen to his interview from Hardcore Sports Radio on Sirius Satellite Radio where he gives you all the tips…

Moving on – FAKING DEATH

This past Sunday morning a false rumour flew across social networking sites like Twitter reporting that Johnny Depp had passed away, so attempting to profit from that some fool posted opened an account and tweeted this...

“Rotten2ThaCore @TNADixie Dixie Is Kurt Angle Ok I Heard A Rumour He Passed Away Is This True”

Really people, I can appreciate a pratical joke as much as the next guy but trying to spread fake rumours about someone’s passing is sad.

Next Up – EVERYONE’S AN EXPERT

Many hardcore TNA fans have become very upset with the changes that the Hulk Hogan era has ushered in. Since Dixie Carter, Eric Bischoff, Jeff Jarrett and Jeremy Borash all have Twitter accounts, many fans who think they know what they are talking about constantly @Reply to the afformentioned names with pieces of advice or insults. While i have no problem with someone having an opinion on a storyline or match result, or change in direction sometimes people just make little to no sense!

triverse @EBischoff As far as the naysayers about you and Hogan in TNA, they aren't wrestling fans, they are "sports entertainment" fans.”

I won’t call myself an expert or say that I can do a better job than Eric Bischoff, but im smart enough to realize that If the naysayers were really sports entertainment fans then they wouldn’t be taking a dump on the rehashing of WWE's 12 year old screw job which was later used as a storyline on numerous occasions on WWE TV. If anything TNA’s current fan base are wrestling fans, perhaps Bischoff and Hogan want to appeal to “sports entertainment fans” after all its what WWE’s fan base is and look where they are. However when they state the opposite on TV it convinces people like the guy who tweeted above that their kool aid is correct but it ends up making guys like triverse look like an uniformed individual.

AZWHawaii - please let me book TNA and in three months ratings would double and i would do it for FREE”

How many times have I’ve heard something like this. If only the old saying were true “If I had a dollar for every time I heard that one, I’d be rich!”  Buddy I’m sure you and many others could come up with a great storyline or idea for TNA or the WWE, Heck I’m sure I could come up with something good too, However I’m not naive enough to think that I could run the entire company and double ratings in a three month period! No one besides perhaps Vince McMahon himself could do that for TNA,  Whether you agree or disagree with what Hogan and Bischoff are doing for TNA right now, the ratings will not be at 2.6 come the end of march and im sure even Hogan or Bischoff would admit that bud.

Finally… TWEETS THAT CANNOT BE EXPLAINED…

--"IM_RONNIE @WWE  ur website suxx . "

--“EVILONE102 @JeffJarrettTNA what's up with hogan's lifetime contract with WWE Cause Watch your BACK ! YOU DON'T NEED ANOTHER WCW REMEMBER !”

--"WilliamFunston : People say wwe is gay cause it's acted are retarded cause I just saw 3 minutes of guys on top of eachother on mma,So I'm pretty sure that's more gay!!!!"

Anyways that about wraps up the first edition of major twitter fail here on Rocko’s Randomness, If you happen to catch a tweet worth mentioning in a future column then feel free to DM or RT it to me via my account @wrestlingreview, or email the show via maineventradio@gmail.com You can also add fellow Main Event members on Twitter via @maineventradio or @gptonystablie .  And to those who found themselves in this edition of major twitter fail, or to those who may find themselves in future installments, don’t take it personally, its only my opinion and ultimately just for shits and giggles.
